A Landmark Achievement: Selected as a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow 2024/2025 at American University Washington College of Law (AUWCL), WASHINGTON D.C.

I am thrilled and honoured to announce that I have been selected as a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow for the 2024/2025 academic year under the prestigious Fulbright Program. This fellowship, hosted by the American University Washington College of Law (AUWCL) in Washington, D.C., marks a significant milestone in my career and presents an incredible opportunity to advance my work on sustainable energy and climate change laws and policies.

The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program

The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program is part of the Fulbright exchange and is designed to enhance leadership among international professionals who collaborate to address global and local challenges. Administered by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, this program provides a unique opportunity for professionals to engage in a year of non-degree graduate-level study, leadership development, and professional collaboration with U.S. counterparts.

My Fellowship Project

My project, titled "Synergising Sustainable Energy and Climate Change Policies," will focus on the critical intersection of energy policy and climate change law. From August 2024 to June 2025, I will immerse myself in cutting-edge research at AUWCL, developing innovative policy frameworks that integrate sustainable energy solutions with robust climate policies. The goal is to create cohesive strategies that address the urgent need for sustainable development while mitigating the impacts of climate change.

The Road Ahead

During my time at AUWCL, I look forward to collaborating with leading experts in the field, participating in advanced seminars, and engaging with fellow professionals from around the world. This fellowship will not only enhance my understanding of international best practices in sustainable energy and climate policy but also provide a platform to share my research and insights with a global audience.

Gratitude and Commitment

I am deeply grateful to the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, AUWCL, and the selection committee for this incredible opportunity. My heartfelt thanks also go to my colleagues and supporters at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) for their unwavering encouragement and support.

This fellowship is not just an individual achievement but a testament to the collective efforts of many who believe in the importance of sustainable development and climate action. I am committed to leveraging this experience to contribute meaningfully to the field and to drive positive change in our communities and beyond.

Conclusion

Being selected as a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow is a profound honour and a responsibility that I embrace with enthusiasm and determination. I look forward to the journey ahead and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on sustainable energy and climate change policies.
